Depending on the drilling method rolling cutter drill bits are produced with different types of legs, unsealed (A,V, N) or pressure sealed (NU, VU, AU, AUP, AUL, AUM).

Rolling cutter drill bit legs have multirow cylindrical bearings, thrust-bearing; legs in the most critical drill bit constructions are pressure-sealed and oil-filled.

Drill bits with pressure-sealed legs have compensatory lubricating system for pressure equalization and lubricant consumption control.

Wetting may be central, lateral and combined.
