VOLGABURMASH Company took part in the 3rd International Conference “Advanced Technologies in Open Pits”, which was held in Kyrgyzstan, September, 8-12, 2008.

The participants of the conference included such companies as Vostoksibugol, PLC (Russia), Razrez Cheremkhovskiy, PLC (Russia), Kunaev Institute of Mining (Kazakhstan), SPb-Giproshakht (Russia), Karelsky Okatysh, JSC (Russia); Mikhailovskiy MCC (Russia), Lebedinskiy MCC (Russia), Kazakhmys (Kazakhstan), Kumtor, JV (Kyrgyzstan), Maxam Int. (Spain), Maxam Int. (Bolivia), Maxam CA (Uzbekistan), Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (Kyrgyzstan), CITI (Kyrgyzstan), Blast Maker, LLC (Kyrgyzstan) and other companies and research organizations.

During the conference Volgaburmash specialists gave a report on New Technologies, Manufacturing Drill Bits for Mining Industry and Design Development, in which they spoke about the influence of advanced technologies and drill bit design features on drilling efficiency. It was particularly mentioned that VBM-group produces a wide range of drill bits for mining industry, special attention was drawn to the fact that bit applications and requirements to bit exploitation are essential for high cost-performance ratio.

The participants of the conference were presented with a new Drill Bits Catalogue for Mining Industry and Operating Manual in Russian and English, which aroused keen interest.
