Office in Republic of Turkmenistan

Our Volgaburmash Office was opened in Ashgabat in 1998 to supply drill bits to the oil and gas enterprises of Turkmenistan (Turkmenoil, Turkmengas, Turkmengeology). This laid the foundation for close cooperation between our drilling enterprises in Samara and Turkmen.

The Turkmenistan enterprise celebrated its 10th anniversary in October, 2008 and it is notable that since then, more than 12,000 drill bits have been supplied by the VBM Group to the republics oil and gas industry. Since 2005, we have been offering a technological support service to help our partners choose the optimum drill bit design. Integrated research, across the group, has made it possible to develop designs capable of functioning in Turkmenistan’s particular geological conditions.

Co-operation between our Volgaburmash factory and Turkmenistan’s oil and gas enterprises has resulted in remarkable technological innovation and corresponding professional development for our scientists and technicians.

Testimony to our success came in 2007 when the board of directors of Turkmenoil decided to train its specialists at our plant, under a Professional Training Agreement.

27 drillers were able to become skilled in drill bit operation and exploitation.
